Round Two of Blogging

Well folks, I leave Petoskey on Sunday! It snuck up on me super quick. Now to BEGIN packing.  It occurred to me that I failed to give any information what so ever as to what I'll actually be doing in Mexico on this blog. So here it goes. I'll be taking The Children at Risk School, which we at Youth with a Mission Tijuana, so affectionately call the CRS. Nifty abbreviation eh? So basically (as far as I can gather) the CRS is basically three months of lecture and three to six months of outreach. To break that down even further, during lecture phase I'll spend each week learning about how to help munchkins. Anywhere from poverty, human trafficking, and orphans-- how to deal, what to expect, and how to help. Outreach is where we put everything we learned into practice. If you're still utterly confused or just plain curious I'll post the website so you can check it out!

Quote of the day: James 1:27 "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world"

sunshine blog:episode one.

So yesterday was my birthday. And Christmas. Get a load of that. I'm a whopping 19 now. I've celebrated thus far by watching How to Train Your Dragon, opening my stellar gifts, and making this blog. Now I've never been the blogging type but since I leave on my next Mexican Adventure in a week, I thought it was about time I conform. So I figure every once in awhile I'll be posting little updates about life in Mexico, what I'm learning, what I'm doing, and perhaps an irrelevant funny story here and there. Hope you find this a worth-while reading and to hear from you all soon!
